While visiting in Seattle, I was cited for driving with a suspended license in another state (CA). My citation stated "3rd degree." I have since paid my fines in California and am getting my license changed to Washington. Meanwhile, I have an arraignment on this case in just a few days. I would like to know what I can expect. Am I going to jail? Do I need a lawyer? To make things worse, I have a warrant in CA. Are they going to send me to California?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Why do you still have a warrant in California if you paid all the fines off. Is it for your arraignment?

Okay, you need serious legal help to make sure you aren't screwed over in both states. You need to check with a lawyer to see if there is an Interstate Drivers Compact spelled out in Washington State and California.

To check for yourself, go to state laws at the freeadvice.com homepage and click on state statutes. Then check Washington and California. Also try this site:
