What happens if you are stop by the police and you dont have current auto insurance?

And if you had auto insurance but forgot to pay un to date,what happens if you hand over a insurance card but its not expired?

How long does it take to supend your licience for having a car with no insurance?

If you get caught driving without insurance, it's a mandatory 1 year suspension and a large fine AND a large surcharge on your insurance premiums in the future.

More importantly, if you cause an accident without insurance, you will be paying for THAT for the next 20 years.

My sister was caught driving with no insurance in PA and her license was REVOKED. for a YEAR and has to pay Massive fines. plus a reinstatement fee once she is eligible to get her license back.

Here in NY your license will be suspended for every day you have plates out of the DMV without insurance to cover them. Or you are welcome to pay $8 a day for days 1-60, up to like $30 a day days 90+ I'm not sure of that second figure because I have never met anyone stupid enough to go past 10 days once the were told the price it carries.
