What is the name of your state? Texas

Is it possible for a dual citizen (U.S. and Turkey) to serve in the Turkish armed services and still retain American citizenship?
I heard that you cannot pledge an oath to another country and still remain an American. (I would imagine even more so, with the recent world events, that this would apply to a Muslim nation!)
Is this the case? How does the court handle if it occurs?

Thank you!

Nasilsin abi?

Serving in any foreign army, (muslim or not muslim) will cause loss of US citizenship!

I am not that familiar with what will happen in an immigration court if the government finds out, I hope it goes well. I am sure you will have to show strong ties to the US to keep your citizenship.

Good luck

Help!

Thank you for your reply..
here are the details:
He was born in the states to Turkish citizens (here temporarily for schooling). He then returned to Turkey at a few months of age.
However, he was granted US citizenship due to being born here. (now has dual citizenship)
He moved back to the states almost 10 years ago..
but the problem is.. he has to serve at least one month in the Turkish army and pay an excess of $4k to retain his Turkish citizenship. This has to be done this year.
If he pledges an oath to Turkey (as will be done), will he lose his citizenship here?
Do you know of any specific laws regarding this?

Thank you again, we are desperate!
