What is the name of your state?I live in illinois. I was recently ticketed for DUI. The officer gave me many copies of the sworn statement and other papers that my lawyer said i should not have. He also gave me every copy of the ticket except the green copy wich i understand is the officers copy to keep for his records. I went to my first apperance and the judge gave me an Information Sheet for Illigal Consuption of Alcohole. He then thumbed through some other papers asking the states attorny what he thinks the state should do because of a petition to get the summary suspension dropped that my lawyer filed and they had no paperwork on the summary suspension so they moved my court date. Now i have two questions. If an officer relizes that he has lost a ticket can he re-write the citation or does he have to go about the way of information part of it. Also how many days does he have to re-write the ticket or the way of information. What if this officer writes a speeding ticket when really he found me sleeping in my car in a parking lot. Can the courts do anything without the hard copies of the sworn report. Thank you for your time.
