I recently got access to a now ex-girlfriends e-mail password and checked her e-mail to she if she was having an affair with a married man. She was and now is filing a restraining order over this because she says I was stalking her. I broke off the relationship and had no intentions of contacting her or looking at her e-mail again. Am I in deep doo-doo for looking at the e-mail? The only way she knew was the fact that I told her when I confronted her over this. She had given me her password before but not this one. I guessed it. Is there a law about e-mail privacy in Kansas or Missouri or is there a federal law?
