easement/right of way rights

What is the name of your state? south carolina we have a right of way/easement across our neighbors property..have had since 1984, the tree limbs going out the driveway stick out and scratch our cars sides and roofs. They wont trim the tree limbs and dont want us to. What are our rights ? Do we not have the right to keep our vehicles from beng damaged ? They also go across our property each time they turn into their driveway and we have never created or caused them problems. We have even caught them walking their dogs in our driveway and in our chuch yard as they dont want the mess on their own property. What are my rights to protect my vehicles from these tree limbs?What is the name of your state?

You can trim the trees as necessary for access. If you kill the tree, you are responsible.

Thanks for the prompt reply. If we have to get their approval to trim the trees we are sunk !
