My parents live in a small rural farm town in Arkansas. Lately they can't seem to make or understand alot of things around them, my dad is very ill and my mom has very little education. My grandparents left them a small fortune but I am afraid they will give it away to anyone who may said they owe them money. My dad sent someone 265.00 when someone call and said they owe for a bill and would put one of them in jail or take their house. I am the only child what can I do legally without them feeling upset about me trying to protect them. I live in Texas

My response:

First of all, no matter what you do, they are both going to feel that you are intruding upon their lives. They will kick, scream, and smack you for doing so. So, pay no attention to that, and take control.

Since you have an inheritance to protect - - and you always need to protect the money - - then, get them to your doctor for physical examinations. Have the doctor write you a report concerning their physical and mental capacities, and that they need to be cared for around the clock.

Then, with that report in hand, get an attorney who will file for Conservatorship of their persons and Estate. That way, you'll control them, and their money.

Then, all you have to do is wait. The money will be intact, and you'll get your payoff from their Estates.

Good luck to you.
