California: My employer is a large Security Company, and has designated an online service as default means of viewing paycheck stubs, but offer that if one choose to receive his or her paycheck stub the opportunity to "Opt-Out", by submitting a email request. However, the paycheck stubs arrive intermittently. After having notified my employer that I had "Opted Out" in favor of receiving my paycheck stub, I was told that the only means of reviewing my paycheck stub was online. I then submitted a grievance with my Union [Labor Code 226a], however the Union either lacking the will or guts to pursue this issue. My question is: In lieu of the employer's "Opt Out" can the employer make it's employee's submit to online viewing of paycheck stubs? And if so, are employee's entitled to written notice that the previous policy to "Opt Out" is null and void?
