When is child considered emancapated. She is 19 i can no longer claim her on taxes. Even though my divorce papers say until 21. She made over 10,000 dollars is not a full time student but i'm still paying support.

A CHILD, a minor, under the age of 18 can become emancipated IF that child is fully self-supporting... If this child reaches the age of 18, he/she is now considered an adult and is no longer legally controlled by the parents.

If your court orders state that you are to pay support til that child turns 21, and that child is not in school, or living with the Custodial parent, then you may want to consider going back to court and modifying your case.
