My husband and I live in Illinois. His daughter was married in december 1997 at the age of 17. In june of 98 she gave birth to her son. Who is responsible for payment of her hospital bill?

If I'm not wrong it would be her and her husbands financial responsibility. I believe most states consider a minor emancipated when they marry, which means all debts incurred thereafter are the responsibility of the married couple. If I am wrong, I am sure someone will correct my misinformation. Hope this helps.
