today I received a "write up" from my boss, I was not even aware that my employer used a write up system. Is my employer required to provide me with something that tells me what I can be written up for? Is there a way I can fight this?

This forum is for US law - what US state did this occur in.

In the US, no, they don't have to provide you with anything and there's really no way to fight being written up.

ETA: I should say that, generally, there's no legal avenue to pursue to fight being written up. There may be some internal mechanism at the company.

Assuming that you are anywhere in the US, the answers to the questions you have asked are no, and no.

IF you are in a union, exceptions may apply.
