What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arkansas

Current situation. Work for a small company around 50 employees. I am married to another coworker at my work in a different department. We are both currently hourly employees. I have applied and been offered a job as a supervisor. However, they say that my spouse would have to quit their job do to the company line about fraternization. Mind you we are already married, and the supervisor job would not be over their department, or even in their management tree. Below is what the hand book mentions about the subject.

No member of management, including supervisors, may date, marry, or become romantically involved with a non-management or hourly employee of the company. Violation of this policy may lead to disciplinary action, including discharge.

The words become and marry are what I question. We are already married and have already been romantically involved. As far as the law how does this stand up?

It stands up perfectly fine. This is a very common policy.

So by standing up that means we have to adhere to the company wishes, and either decline the supervisor position or let my spouse quit?
