An employee quit with no prior notice. Because she was head of her department, and did not have documentation of many records, I have had to spend countless man hours figuring out where she left things. She refused to come in and explain the status of her work. She also told me she didn't want her last paycheck. She is now demanding to be paid for her last week or she will file a claim. What are my options?

She's entitled to the paycheck. SHe worked there and that's it.

You're entitled to tell any future employer what she did and why you would not recommend her.
