Subject: employment benefits
situation:
An employer is late in registering his/her employee for group benefits. As a result, the insurance company requests that the employee submit a doctor's physical examination in order to determine eligibility for benefits. The exam is done, the insurance company denies the employee's eligibility for benefits. In this case, would the employer not be responsible for this denial since he/she NEGLECTED to register the employee in due time? What are the employee's rights? What would be the next plan of action for employee? (this is a Canadian case)
