I am qualifying a potential tenant on an apartment lease. The applicant is self-employed and submitted a copy of his 2004 tax return to show self-employment and income status. Is there any way to double check the accuracy of that information?
i.e. Will the IRS disclose such information as verification?

Did you run a credit report on the individual/family? That would prove income and payment history...

Most likely not to a private landlord (individual)

Always hard to get the real amount of a self-employed, but you can bet the amount is short of the real total which is probably higher than what you see.
