my ex-husband and i are both residents of san francisco california. we have a court order stating the amount of spousal and child support that i am to receive from him each month until september 2004. my ex-husband has been laid off and now refuses to pay me. he says that according to the law he does not have to pay me while he is unemployed. my question is...is he required to pay me according to our court order unless the order has been modified by the court? is child support mandatory and spousal support voluntary? please help, thank you, torryne choate
