What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
New York

Thanks to all who helped me through the other thread "Mom passed, left me house & mortgage."

Question about estate income tax filing...

I of course had to continue mortgage and tax payments on my mother's home after her death in September 2006. The estate saw very little income in 2006. In 2007 the estate saw no income though I continued through 2007 & 2008.

Now when I file taxes for 2006, 7, & 8 won't the IRS think it strange a dead person with no income is shelling out so much money?
