Estimate for Probate Proceedings?

Can anyone estimate the costs for a probate proceeding in MA, small estate, only 2 relatives, non contested, no will. Particularly interested in what an attorney might typically charge. Also, since I am out of state, can I request joint administrators, myself plus one person living in that state?

What is the value of the estate?

Executor fee will be in the range of 5%.

It is very unlikely that you as an out-of-state resident would be granted permission to be co-executor, since it is usually more convenient for the executor to live in the same city or county where the decedent died to more conveniently be able to take care of paperwork and other matters that would be difficult for an out-of-state resident to take care of.
