I am an assistant manager for a major retail
chain. The store manager typed my annual
review on the store computer system and saved
it on an excell file. This file could be accessed through any of the store computers and several hourly associates found the file
and saw my review.My boss apologized but I
feel that major damage has been done to my credibility and effectiveness as a result since the review was not very favorable.
What can I do? Illinois.

Unfortunately this seems to be an HR and not a legal matter.

Although I could imagine a clever claim being brought for spite, I have some doubts any lawyer would take it on speculation for a contingency. I doubt that you would want to pay by the hour.

As I assume the material posted was very unfavorable (if not you'd be thrilled) I doubt that you had much of a career there anyway. No real harm, no real damages.
