Ex is a suspended Attorney and it goes way down from there.....We split 4 years ago.

I need help it's a long story so I'll make it short.

I was a homemaker, quitting my Stockbroker job in 96, had 2 chiildre in 96 and 98.
My Ex ttook money out of a client's trust account and was suspended for 3 years in 98-99. Although a great attorney, horriable business man.

I have paperwork that he has tax liens of one sort or another with his 1st wife and pc 1993-1995. We got married in 1994 and he started tax liens from then to today. He hasn't field taxes in 5 years. He ruined my credit and I then I had a tax lien against me for 65,000 from him not paying taxes or filing

I had to go through innocent spouse program without an attorney (Both my BK and Divorce attorney said I wouldn't qualify) I couldn't afford a tax attorney, so I did it myself and was relieved after 1 1/2, having to involve a tax advocate since IRS made a ton of mistakes, phones calls and faxes every week.....

Long and short of it, My question is:

What is the Ball Park range that a Tax attorney would charge for this, with this outcome, I signed the tax forms, it was for years 96,98,99 (Years I wasn't working) and I filed for relief in 2005?

He even wrote a letter to the IRS saying that I kept asking him about taxes but he said eveything was fine.

I also in 10 months in 2005, learned the FCRA rules (This was afer having to file BK in 2004) and got my credit score go from 415 to 558. My BK attorney said, "How the hell did you do that?"

Needless to say, My ex did all this stuff that affectd me and then left me hanging to clean up the mess for me. So Second Question:
How much would a credit attorney cost (BallPark) to get this type of results?

The reason for these questions: Per our divorce he was supposed to take care of all this....yeesaaaa. Anyway, It was a lot of work for me and I would like to get some ball park ideas of how much because I'm thinking about civiling suing him for this.

Because of being a single mom to 2 kids under 9, driving to work and from (4o hour) work talking to the IRS or credit bureaus. Re-studying for my Series 7 and 63 to get re-licensed ( I was licensed in 96) took the tests and passed, work as a office manager in a brand new investment office that I set up pluse being a sales assistant to 4 brokers, all in a period of 11 months. I am now so severely depressed and worn out my doctor said your done, and I now having to work on getting some sort of disability.

I can overcome any hurdles, learn about anything, but I am human and after being married to and arguing with an attorney for 12 years, at some point you get done.

He filed BK for 3.3 million dollars and included me as a NON Priority creditor (which the title is perfect) per our divorce judgment......The thing is he filed 21 days for BK prior to the judge finalizing our divorce

I know this was long but it's just the tip.

However if any professionals can give me any ideas or price ranges for my questions above that would be great.

He is still not an attorney, put 2 companies he started into BK, and now I am forced to loook into welfar? (His idea)

I don't have the background to help you, and I have to say I find your post a liitle confussing, but I do have a couple of questions for you. When did the divorce finalize? How much of the 3.3 million is he trying to make you resopnsible for? Is it taxes or unsecured/secured debt? Is there any evidence of fraud related to the bk? Personally, I think you might be wasting you time with a civil suit if he has nothing and is in bk, - could be a waste of your money - just a consideration. Also, what chapter did you file in 2005? Do you have a child support/alimony agreement?

Find an ENROLLED AGENT agent tax accountant/professional/attorney in the yellow pages in regards to the tax problems (this is someone who has experience working in an IRS office and who knows the rules/regulations backwards and forwards and may be able to get your tax liability reduced through offer in compromise). That person can perhaps consult with a credit/debt attorney to get your other questions answered.
