Hi all, my husband have yet another issue with the child's mother. She is now saying that my husband need to supply all of the baby things for visitation. Like diapers, wipes, clothes, and etc.

Question, if we supply these things during our time with the baby can my husband child support be reduced because he's already supplying for the baby. He's not working right now anyway.

Thanks

It's not like he's babysitting for the mother. It's his child. Does he really want to nickel-and-dime the issue to the extent that he's going to take her back to court for baby wipes?? Why stop there? Why not figure up how much food the child eats, pro-rate the heating bill while s/he's there, and count the gallons of water you put in his bath.

He's going to have some of his own expenses when he has the child. It's called being a parent.

I feel sorry for that mother. You guys sound like you're going to split every hair you can find for the next eighteen years.

Well your husband needs a job. He needs to be a parent and supply things for his child. Child support is NOT going to be reduced because he buys some diapers, wipes, clothes. WHat is he going to do next -- try to get it reduced because he buys the child socks for Christmas? Or toys? Give me a break. Stepmom4ever YOU and YOUR husband need to grow up, and he needs to put his child first. END of story.

Child support calculations include parenting time for the NCP, whether explicitly by counting the number of overnights or by how the equations are written.

How's this for a solution - don't buy the kid anything. Let him/her stay at your home naked the entire time, don't feed him/her anything you wouldn't normally have in the house, and just take the garden hose to the little bum to clean up.

You two really are among the most petty people I have ever run across. I do, however, wish you'd put Mr Wonderful on the line for a few minutes so we can tell him what sort of "man" he is.

I think the title of the thread says it all. She calls this "major drama"?? Even better, she says the ex is the one causing the drama. Because she asked this guy to buy his own baby wipes? It's going to be a looooong 18 years.

Every time I read stuff like this I almost want to call my son's father and apologize for thinking his wife was a PITA.

Is this person for real?

I mean seriously, she has provided me with hours of comic relief, but I'm starting to wonder if she's a fake just to show people how completely assinine some step moms can be.

Could she be an evil twin of one of the seniors? Which one......:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Gotta be a joke.

I am going to bite.

So you and husband think because he pays support he should not provide things for child in your home?

Do you feed child in your home, or do you expect Mom to supply food also? Do you give her a menu and have her prepare it so child does not eat differently than you and husband?

Do you have her reimburse you the costs to bath child? I mean your husband is sending support and he is therefore supplying moneys to keep child, so shouldn't you be asking for that reimbursement?

I can go on, if you need more help asking for things from Mom, since there is child support paid to her for your husbands child.

Oh wait, I bet if this child is a girl and when she gets older, you will be like my Ex, and even ask that I supply her pads/tampons, if she is going to have her cycle, during the time she is with him.

Stepmom, you're missing the point with child support. Child support is ordered so that the child may have a standard of living that is close to what he/she would enjoy if the parents lived together. Child support is ordered to help the custodial parent to provide that standard of living. Providing some of the baby's necessities in your home does nothing to improve the standard of living in the custodial home, so cannot be construed as child support.

Solution to your drama issue.....you move out, let dad be forced into growing up and supporting the needs of his child. With you gone so is the drama and dad has more money to spend on his child. Case closed. Faith

It was just a question guys. That's it! If his child support stays the same, then so be it. No need to get all antsy and nasty with me.

Thanks for all of your responses:)
