I posted a question about an auto accident in which i could not get any payment for my injuries i had here in colorado on craigslist legal forum and received many emails from many users to contact this one lawyer in california who practiced nationwide. I sent him an email disclosing all the details. I received a response back that it could be settled very quickly and all i would have to pay is the multi-jurisdictional filing fees of $710. I sent a bank check off to him and about a week later received a email back that they had contacted my insurance company and determined that there is no basis of action ( what does that mean ).
I replied asking for my money back and have yet to receive a response no matter how many emails i send. I tried to contact the telephone number and the person answers as "law firm" but when I asked for mike gomez the person tells me there is no one here by that name. The telephone number is for a cell phone and on his office address in the email according to whitepages turns out to be a mailboxes place.
all i can find for the site is contacting abuse, i sent an email to them and received a form email back thanking me for contacting them.
Does this sound right or who should I contact ? any help appreciated
btw, I posted my insurance issue on this forum and I hope i can get some advice on what to do about that too
