What is the name of your state? South Carolina

I had a summons to appear in my local magistrates court
on Oct 25th, 2005 at 10:30am to anwser an earlier charge from Feb 05.
I arrived promptly at 10:25, announced myself to the clerk, and was told
to have a seat. I'm a disabled person(injured disks in back) and use a cane
to help me walk. After waiting 30 minutes, I asked the clerk to please call
the judge as I was experiencing pain from sitting so long. She did and 5
minutes later, 2 cops walk out and say that they called my name, I didn't
anwser and that the judge has issued a warrant for my arrest. He told
me I would have to pay a $500 fine or go to jail for 30 days and that the
judge found me guilty on prior event from feb. I explained that I was
there the whole time and to ask the clerk. He refused to listen. I pleaded
that I am disabled and your making a mistake, just get the judge. He took
my cane, tossed my papers on the floor, and cuffed me while another
cop stood by with a taser gun. I fell to the ground, re-injuring my back.
As I'm lying on the floor screaming from pain I begged the prick for a dr.
He called the paramedics and off to the hospital I went. Twice this cop
grabbed me by the seat of my pants (belt buckle)and lifted me up,
onlt injuring me more. After the dr examined me (xrays and a shot for pain)
she said to follow up with my pain dr. The real kicker is after 3 hrs of this
torment, same cop comes in the exam room with a discharge order
from the judge saying I'm free to go. What the heck is going on here?
Have my rights been violated? Do I have any recourse here? All help
is welcomed and appreciated.

Without a full review of BOTH SIDES of this story there is no way anyone here can tell you 'what is going on'.

If you feel the treatment was unjustified then hire an attorney to represent your interest.

what is "simple assault" i have never heard of that?

Assault comes in two classes:

Simple - Without weapon. I.E. Hitting, spitting, kicking.

Aggrevated - With a weapon. I.E Knife, Baseball Bat, etc

I feel that I was fairly clear without going into too much detail.
I have tried a dozen lawyers as well as the ACLU. The lawyers
replied either too busy or what they charge would not justify
what I would get in return. I spoke with a criminal lawyer.
He said that it is clear what the cop did is unjustifiable.
I was hoping to find if anyone had been thru something
similiar and if anyone knew of any gov't institutions or who I
could contact to help me.

hmmmmmmmm. yet you say you are disabled. sorry, I think you need to speak the truth here. which is why you can't find a lawyer to represent you.

I am speaking the truth. I am also being given another court date
and victims assistance. I may or may not have a case, however
I am posting on this board for similiar cases. You have nothing
to substantiate me lying and why would I here? I got nothing
better to do? You are a moron.
