I am not sure if this is the right venue or not but I am trying to find some info concerning my biological father. I was placed for and adopted in Nebraska and live in Indiana. I am currently 31 and know both of my biological parents. My biological father refuses to give me family medical history or the name of his other child. Is there any way that I can sue him for this information? I can get genetic testing for the medical stuff (as I do have health problems) but I can't look for my sister without her name.

Thanks in advance

I'm sorry, but without an very compelling reason, you won't be able to get the court to force your birth father to give you information about your sister. Even then, both his and her privacy may be more critical than your desire to know.

I agree completely, however I have to say that its more than a bit sad that he won't give her a family medical history. Its difficult for me to fathom that someone would deny that to a biological child, even if they do not want to acknowledge the relationship. Sheer human compassion seems to make that mandatory in my eyes.
