What is the name of your state? Wisconsin
My question is can the father also take away support? My son's father wants to terminate his visitation because he can see that his son is not happy with him. He also wants to terminate insurance and support. He is doing this through just his lawyer so he says. How can he terminate support and is this legal without a judge?

he is under no obligation to see his son. A visitation agreement is only his "right" to see his son.

As for support, not even his attorney can do this. Only a court can and that won't happen. Well, let's say it's 99.999999% likely not to happen.

Depends on what the judge smoked the night before.

no it's not legal without a judges order and the only way he can get out of paying support is if someone else is willing to come in and adopt your child. Basically BD is wanting to terminate his rights, he has the right not to do the visitation if HE (BD) chooses too. However if child didn't want to go yet BD insisted then by law you are to make child go. Judges don't allow him not to support the child because basically by law it would mean he didn't have a father and the states want the children to have two parents supporting the children so hopefully no-one goes to the state asking for help.

Again, nothing can be done without a judge. You would both have to go to court and like me and hexeliebe both said the odds of him getting support terminated is slim to none. The only way he could have a slim chance get the orginal court order changed is if by some chance he has an idea the child isn't his and is right. Even on that slim chance the judge will see that he's accepted the child as his own up until this time. Sounds like the ex is just blowing you S***. They tend to do that from time to time just to keep our lives interesting.. :p

WI is one state where if the judge finds in his favor to terminate his parental rights, it terminates ALL rights, support included. We don't know his side so it's impossible to even guess what a judge might or might not do.
