Father using visition as punishment

What do you guys think of a father who tells his son that he is not going to be picking him up for visitation, due to something the boy did to make the father mad.

What did the boy do? - He told me his dad was bragging that he wasn't required to have dental insurance per divorce decree.
How did he find out? I tried to politely ask him to leave our son out of our business. And that it is not good for the kid to have his father degrading his mother to the kid. The boy is 15 by the way.

Is this proof enough that emotional abuse is taking place?

It may not be a great thing to be doing, but this is not emotional abuse and if this is all you have you will get laughed out of court.
