Filed harassment charges against ex-husband, will this affect custody/visitation.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I filed harassment charges against my ex-husband and after an investigation a warrant for his arrest was issued. He was notified of the warrant by mail and turned himself in, and bailed himself out. His arraignment will be December, 2. This is a class B mistemendor How will this affect our custody/visitation? Can I request a protective order? What can happen to him depending on his plea? :D

it won't affect the custody order until someone files for a modification. which should be you.

you can request a protective order for you, but as he is not a danger to the children, it is not likely the children will be included in that order.

you can request all communication be only in regards to the children and/or through a third party. you can request a third party to do all the exchanges, or have exchanges done at a public place, such as a library, police station or local store.

what happens to his plea, depends on what the DA offers him.
