What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? New York.
I reside out of NY, but the defendant resides in Nassau County, on Long Island. This individual owes me $7,000 for services provided but has not paid, and doesn't appear to want to do so. Leaving me no choice but to pursue this via the courts.
I'm trying to gather info on the process in that jurisdiction. So far, all calls to the number provided are met with a busy signal. Can someone familiar with the Nassau County court system provide any insights into the how and where of the filing process. Thank you.

Wow, Long Island is it's own state now...

Google Nassau County Courthouse, go to their home page and follow the links. You found this forum, so you should be able to find that one...
