I live 6 months in New Jersey & 6 months in South Carolina.

Which state should I file my claim? Both have filing fees, I believe. Aren't Bankruptcies filed in Federal Court? I have a large judgement against me filing chapter 7 should solve that problem. Basically I'm retired since I just freelance periodically.

Business?

Since you posted in the business bankruptcy forum, I assume you're talking business bk 7. I'm not absolutely certain, but I think you must file in the state in which you're incorporated even though...yes, bk is in federal court.
