Ok I posted here a while ago about how I was late for a court hearing on my child support. I have not missed a payment for years and my arrears are documented by a doctor for an accident that I had. Since I was late they issued a warrant for my arrest. I showed up for my hearing today and now they are saying that there is no history of the warrant. I know that since they are idiots I do not want to get "screwed" here since I am moving in less than a month I want to make sure for sure that it is not there. Who would I contact to check for the warrant?

If the judge had no record of the warrant I am not sure how you could find one. The warrant would have been directly connected to your existing CS case.

The hearing basically went like this.....

Me: "Your honor I was under the impression that during my previous hearing a warrant was issued for my arrest."

Attorney from state: [fumbles paperwork] "I show no information on this matter"

Judge: "Do you have your proof of payment for your child support?"

Me: "Yes I do your honor... right here"

Judge: [looks over paperwork] So this shows that you have been paying since ______"

Me: "Yes your honor"

Judge: [turns to Attorney from State] "You said that he was not paying"

Attorney from State: "Your honor, my information shows that he is not paying"

Me: "That is because you have not been returning the calls from the State of NC where my child support goes to." [hand judge more paperwork from lady I have been in contact with in NC]

Judge: "This says that North Carolina is currently collecting your child support and currently holds juristiction. Have you been attending court hearings there as well?"

Me: "Yes your honor"

Judge: [to attorney from state] "I see no reason to cotinue this hearing, he was to be held in contempt until he produced 24 consecutive months of child support and he has done that and North Carolina is holding juristiction. Mr. ______ you may go."

I am a little confused why I am going to court here anyways because my daughter lives in NC. I want to make sure that the warrant is no longer active before I move because it will be hard to take care of after I move. The guy from the state here didn't necessarly say that there wasn't one, he just said he didn't have any info on it. I contacted the lady from NC and she says that she does not know and the guy from the state here is basically clueless of everything. As you can see, I have been paying and it was his idiot self that kept dragging me into court every month saying that I wasn't.

The lady from NC has tried to call him tons of times and he refuses to return her calls. If he had just returned her calls in the first place, the warrant would have never been issued.
