Yesterday before getting to work I received multiple texts from coworkers asking why I was no longer with the company, which was news to be because I had not quit and had planned on working that evening. Turns out my manager planned on firing me and told the entire staff about it before I got there. Furthermore I hadn't received any warnings or write ups in my 6 months with the company. Do I have any rights here?

You didn't give us the name of your state, but anyplace in the US, this is perfectly acceptable[SUP]*[/SUP]. You have the right to apply for unemployment insurance.

Generally, absent a contract, it legal for an employer to fire you and to be indiscreet / indelicate about it.

You need to immediately apply for unemployment.

Chalk this up to, Managed unprofessionally but not illegal.

File for unemployment and look for a new job.

Because you were only on the job for 6 months and there is no indication of prior employment, you might not want to immediately apply for UI.

You might be better served doing some base period calculations to be sure that you're monetarily eligible, and do some what-ifs. You might find that by applying now, you might get no benefit (not the end of the world) or a small benefit and less than 26 weeks (and that's hard or sometimes impossible to fix if you jump the gun) waiting until Oct 2 might make a huge difference if you can endure the wait and the extra weekly amount, weeks of benefits or the amount of time you expect to be out of work is a factor for you.
