FL sales tax on home improvement

I(homeowner) will be buying a metal roof. It will be permanently attached to my home. This is a real properly improvement. I will be getting a permit for the installation. Some quotes that I have received include FL sales tax, others dont. These written quotes are parts only from FL manufacturers. Does the law require me to pay FL sales tax? If it does, is there a legal way to perform this transaction to avoid paying this tax?

What is the law on this?

thanks,
paul

You pay the sales tax. There is no getting around it.

The companies that don't show it separately are building it into the total and then they pay the tax to the state.

See the Florida Dept of Revenue website:

A question, Paul: Do you live in Florida or do you live in another state?

FL.

Thanks for answering my question, Paul. There are sales tax exemptions and determining if a purchase is exempt from sales tax can be complicated, especially when the sale is to someone living in another state or the purchase is from an out of state vendor and delivered to a resident in Florida.
