Florida DMV - I took a driving class to remove points from my license, didn't work,

I just paid for a copy of my 7 year driving record.

I had a speeding ticket along with a no seat belt ticket in 2004. I took the class and the speeding ticket was removed, but the seat belt ticket remained (that's fine).

I then got a speeding ticket in 2010 and took the class, sent in the certificate and paid it off. The ticket is still there with 4 points on my license. Is this an error on the DMV's behalf? How long would it take for the correction to show up on my record? I need my driving record to look clean to get hired.

Let me also add, that from what I read these should not be on my 3 or 7 year driving record if I took the drivers improvement class. They should only be seen on my complete drivers record.

I'm reading that there is a limit of 5 in a lifetime. I've only taken the class at most 3 times. It had been years since the last time I took the class and it's only a 18 month wait before you are allowed to take another class.

My ticket was for going 55 in a 35, 20mph over...I don't believe that is considered reckless but did net my 4 points on my license.

In New Jersey, you can only take the defensive driving class once every 5 years.
It removes 3 points for every completed class
If you take the class within the 5 year period, you're wasting your money if you're trying to reduce points.
It may help lower your insurance a little bit, but not teh points on your license

No where in my post did I state New Jersey & Florida were the same as far as state law
However because many states have similar statutes, I was merely indicating the statute for NJ, as it maybe similar to Florida.....

Actually, New Jersey sounds different from the "norm." Again, do NOT post if you don't know the info. If you can't be bothered to put in a few minutes of research, then just back away from the keyboard.
