Selling Florida Lot

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?CALIFORNIA
I am resident of California and inherited a vacant lot in Florida which is now for sale. A group of people called "A Company" wanted to buy one of the vacant lot. I asked them to close the deal and I will to contact an escrow company. I was informed by the Buyer that there is no such Escrow Company in Florida who can be the middleman between the Buyer and Seller. How can I protect myself from "fraud closing"?

When I sold land in WI, I hired a local realestate attorney there to handle the sale. I think I separately purchased title insurance and had that forwarded to the attorney.

You certainly want to make sure you get verified identification and guaranteed payment (not a rubber check) before passing any title to the buyer. Florida seems to be a haven for spammers and scammers.

Escrow company may be the wrong term (never heard it called that). But a title company or title insurance company may be able to handle the sale or steer you to someone who can.
