What is the name of your state? Oklahoma

My dh and I are very worried. His daughter's mom recently met a guy in February and moved in with him and her two children in April. My dh daughter told me the last time she came over for visitation that mom's boyfriend frequently yells at mom and that he has spanked daughter. He has also physically threatened my dh.

Well, I was researching and discovered that mom's boyfriend apparently got out of jail in 2005. He was charged with a felony for possession of illegal substance (class II which is acid related substances.) He was also in trouble for not paying taxes owed to the state. He has two felonies on his record...one for the substance and one for arson.

Well, now we are REALLY worried about the safety of his daughter. We don't know if he may be particularly violent or capable of violence. Not only that, what if he is still using illegal drugs? At one time we believed that mom was using, but were never really able to prove it.

Is this grounds to get CASA, DHS or CPS involved? Especially if the child TOLD me directly that he has spanked her?

Also, mom is currently pregnant with her boyfriend's child. What about the safety of that unborn child?

You can call CPS for anything, whether or not they investigate is another thing altogether. In my experience as a foster parent, even in places where it is legal to spank (like FL) that does not apply to someone elses child. The OP's stepdaughter was spanked by someone not related to her.

The reply to that statement would be that the mother authorized her boyfriend to discipline the child in any way he saw fit.

While I agree there seems to be some cause for concern here, I don't know if it is worth risking worse treatment over that issue alone.

A more important issue to look into is if the BF is on probation and, if so, what his restrictions are.
