What is the name of your state? New Jersey
my sister is in foreclosure on her house. She hasn't paid the mortgage in approx. 5 mos. She called the mortgage co. and asked when they were putting it up for sheriff's sale and they said around the first of the year. (She currently owes the legal fees due to the foreclosure plus the back mortgage pmts.) She has decided to sell the house in order to pay off the debt and to preserve the great amount of equity that she has in it. She has talked to a broker but has not listed the house yet because she has a friend who's interested in buying it. The friend posed a question from her own broker and that is: WHO IS THE SELLER? My sister has been in foreclosure before but pulled it out with money at the eleventh hour. If she is in foreclosure and owes legal fees etc., Is she still the seller? How does she know when it's too late? Thank you for any advice.
