Looking into adopting an adult (20yrs) from Mexico who's mother sole caregiver past away.
Technically an Adult who's disability causes him to have the mental capacity of a child.

Would this "adult" have the same rights to citizenship as adopting an orphan child????

An adult who is adopted by a US citizen is NOT entitled to the same immigrant benefits as a minor adoptee.

That's generally true. However, it might be worth contacting INS to see if there is an exception for someone with a severe handicap.
