What is the name of your state? California
Background Info.
I will try to be as brief as possible. I was the VP at a large company in my area and reported directly to the BOD. The CEO of the comapny was part of the Board as well. I hired a Regional Manager to help me as I was out of town developing business in other states. While I was gone the CEO and my manager hit it off and developed a solid professional relationship. Next thing I know, I am asked to apply for the Presidents Position(good) and my new manager of 2 1/2 months was asked to to run as well too.(huh) The CEO asked her to run directly. Well after the Board Interviews us, the CEO meets with me and tells me it was unanimous decision for her. What? The CEO doesn't know that I spoke to the Chairman and he promised me that my manager would not get his vote and he will fight to the end for me, which he did. No unanimous decision according to him. I don't trust my manager(now my new boss?) or my CEO. I resign about 2 months later with a Letter of Recommendation from the Chairman of the Board.
Now 1 1/2 years later I own my own wholesale company and contract with a company a I knew from my previous employment to sell my products. We've been negotiating for 4 months over contracts when they tell me that they will probably sell my products to my former employer whom they contract with. No problem I tell them, as they're just a sales contractor and rebadge my products under their own name and I'm just their supplier. They meet with my former employer and employee to launch these new products when they ask"isn't this what CAneedshlp doesnow." MY contractor says "yes" and that they buy from me. At that point, my former employee says I will not support any company that does business with CAneedshlp and that if they continue do business with me that their contract with them is in jeoprdy as well. My contractor has now told me that they cannot do business with me when they were about 70% of my revenue because of my former employers statements. I have no idea why this would happen when I resigned with what I thought was a good seperation with a LOR from the Chairman.
What can I do? My business is in serious trouble.
