I have some questions about foster parenting/adoption. I would like to foster parent and if I really like the child adopt. So, therefore I need a foster child up for adoption. Can I ask for a child who is up for adoption when I pick a foster child?
Also, how much money does the state help you out with for raising a foster child? I want to make sure we can afford this. We make 51,000 last year so we have enough for our own family.
How much will the adoption cost if we would want to adopt the foster child we are caring for.
And one more? How long do they make you foster a child before you get the option of adopting them??? WE live in Ohio. Thank You for your support!

You get a monthly reimbursement for being a foster parent. I'm not sure amounts, but I do know it's very reasonable. Foster parents normally will have the option to adopt a child if the circumstances warrents it. But usually, children get put in foster care until the parent(s) get their act together or whatever...so alot of the times foster children get put back with their bio parent(s).

Being a foster parent is very difficult. As you have to be very strong. I admire foster parents tremedously. I thought about doing it, but realized that I would get too attached to the children that were placed with me. And the loss of them would be too much for me to bear. Obviously, I am not strong enough to be a foster parent.

That is why I have the utmost respect for foster parents, they are a gift from above.
