What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

We have full custody and the mom wanted us to take her child and we legally did this through the courts. He (baby)has been living with us over a year and we want to adopt but cannot afford it. They want $7,500. Is there a way to do this on my own since I already have full custody and parental rights were already terminated?

Why the urgency if the mother's rights were already terminated and you already have full custody?

I you wait and give yourself the time to save the money for an attorney, that would be the wisest move.

In any event, adoption is never a DIY project. Much better to pay the price and get every T crossed and I dotted.

Ummm, $7500 to complete an adoption is fairly inexpensive compared to what adoption costs usually run.

Have you completed a home study?
