What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts just writing to let mass property owners that supreme court ruled they are responsible for snow removal from walkways. What els can landlords expect?

the only thing I found was Massachusetts Tenant's Handbook * SNOW REMOVAL: Every exit used or intended for use by occupants of more than one dwelling unit or rooming unit shall be maintained free from obstruction . Which is not much different than many other places meaning if it is a multi unit , 2 , 3 , 4 etc unit home or say a store with apts above , or rooming house the owner has to deal with it. I imagine many LLs who have say a twin = side by side home , where there are two driveways , two sets of exit doors each leading only to that units driveway might still make it a tenant obligation to do it but may well put in to a lease a rigid penalty $$$ for failing to do it with in a set amount of time after a snowfall. Where I used to live SFHs had a longer time than owners of residential multi units to get city side walk cleared (8 hr) and I think commerical area but city sidewalk was 4 hr, its been a long time so having trouble remembering. ( many cities and towns already have ords about snow removals from city sidewalks anyway) Bottom line for the LLs who do hire it out it will just make it more expensive now because snow removal guys will re do priority charges and those who want it done by a set time to avoid legal hassles will be charged more , so rents will in the end go up.
