I have a 20 year old daughter who is mentally retarded and I have been told that I have to file for Gaurdianship so that I can make decisions for her. Can you tell me how this process works and is it expensive? Dallas, TX

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.
In addition to what I give you, may I suggest you contact a family law organization in Texas (yellow pages under legal services in your community guide section) to help you petition and file if you cannot afforf to hire a family law attorney.

If you want to hire a family law or probate attorney, try http://www.attorneypages.com
