General question about union dues

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

As a UPS employee from 2004 until 2008 I was a part of the teamsters union. When I left UPS in 2008, I never requested a withdrawal card. This new job I am up for requires employees to join the teamsters as well. My question is, since I did not formally 'withdraw' from the union, will I have to pay over 7 years of union back dues if I were to accept this new job?

Consult your BA. It is unlikely, however you will likely lose credit for the 4 years you were there.
