What is the name of your state? Washington

Okay so without going into the details (because they aren't needed) my boyfriend was arrested for DUI a year ago and just finally got through the court system. He was offered a plee to Reckless Driving instead. But the DOL took his License because the original charge was DUI.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get the License back now? Part of his sentence for the Reckless Driving is going to be an interlock for 5 years and well he can't have the Interlock without a license.

Any input on experience on getting a license back when the charge has been changed would be appreciated.

Thank you!

When he is able to get his privledges back then he can go about getting it reinstated; he then will be required to have the interlock installed.

From the Washington Statutes:

RCW 46.61.500
Reckless driving — Penalty.

(1) Any person who drives any vehicle in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving. Violation of the provisions of this section is a gross misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment of not more than one year and by a fine of not more than five thousand dollars.

(2) The license or permit to drive or any nonresident privilege of any person convicted of reckless driving shall be suspended by the department for not less than thirty days.

[1990 c 291 § 1; 1979 ex.s. c 136 § 85; 1967 c 32 § 67; 1965 ex.s. c 155 § 59.]

How long did they say his license would be suspended?
