Getting fired for something I didn't do

Arkansas-So a situation happened at work were a guy stole some money from the register and got scared and put it back. The manager obviously found out money was missing and the money magically reappeared. She went to go check the camera and the camera shows I'm next time him on my register while he's on his putting the money back. On camera it looks like Im trying to shield the camera from seeing him. To make it worse I had no reason to be at my register. I was only upfront to talk to him. So I guess while we were talking he put the money back and had me look bad. Now I already got a one day suspension and have been allowed to come back. The gm pulled me to the side and told me he's given the case to the regional manager and is gonna let him handle it. Can I still get fired? I've already been punished can they still do something about it? If I do get fired is there any legal action i can take.? I literally had nothing to do with the situation but I look bad on camera.
