What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OHIO

I have been employed for 3 years as a bartender in a very busy restaurant (corporate)....
All was well until My fellow bar mates moved and became replaced with a married couple. When the manager (their friend) introduced the couple I didn't think much of it until about a month in when I started experiencing hostility and isolation. Mind you, i have seniority, respect and am a top performers I do most of the training as well, however the couple treat me as if I am not even there with them behind the bar, and I have witnessed some very shady behavior between them, it's so obvious they are in cahoots . Not only do they scam tips illegally, (allegedly) I have to endure the tension that is built when they argue, or discuss personal matters.
The last straw started about 4 months ago when they started to conspire to cut me early so they can collect more tips during the busy times. They wait until I start to do some side work then begin to hit up all of the bar customers to cash their checks out, so that they collect tips not seen by me..... The manager is intimidated by them, as they have safety in their numbers as a couple.
Is this nepotism? Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you

I am happy to see that, after two previous tries to start a thread, you figured out on this third try that the preview post function on this site does not work properly. Thank you for sticking with it. :)

Here is a link to the nepotism thread you printed off earlier: https://forum.freeadvice.com/hiring-firing-wrongful-termination-5/nepotism-illegal-257849.html

Nepotism is not illegal, as you learned from that thread. Nepotism is the showing of favoritism to a relative.

I am not sure what you are seeing as conflict of interest.

Have you reported to the manager the problems you are experiencing with this couple - or are you a bit leery of doing so because you know the two are friends with the manager?

Have you thought about looking elsewhere for a job?

3rd wheel

I read that conflicts of interest range from petty to major, and working directly with a married couple, friends with the boss whom are STEALING from me and the company seemed to have a conflict of my interst .
Ive decided to confront THEM. If nothing changes I'll contact the managers boss.

Do not want to search for new job because given the fact I am being ripped off by my co-workers, I make good money. Yes I know I should be grateful for the position I have, and anything else I can shake off, but getting robbed of money I have earned is own right foul.

Thanks for the feedback

You should expect to be fired - very soon. File for unemployment.

You have the "smart" part of your statement right, at least. The other part of your statement is rude, especially when you came to this forum seeking our help.

As to the theft, you said you only "suspected" tip money was being diverted away from you (you used the word "allegedly"). Suspicions can be reported to your manager but suspicions are not enough to support a charge of theft.

The manager hired the couple because they are friends of his. This perhaps places you on shaky ground with your own employment if you cannot work well with this couple. I suggest you start looking for another job.

I agree that looking for answers on this forum that are different from the ones you have already received is probably a waste of your time - and ours.

Good bye, Ranimal26.
