This is a scam that I recently came across. Hopefully it will save a lot of people from being cheated.

I was looking for a vehicle on autotrader.com and found a Jeep 2004 with 18,000 miles for $4000. I figured it was to good to be true but I emailed the seller anyways.

He emailed me back saying he was in the UK and he bought this car from US but when he tried to register the car there they said that he could not register a car that has US emissions so he is selling it back to the US.

He said he wanted to go through squaretrade and soon after I received a email from squaretrade (support@squaretrade-secure-payments.com). But when I went to squaretrade-secure-payments.com it is a bogus site.

The scam is them sending you an email from a real company in this case squaretrade then telling you to send the money through western union where squaretrade will hold it until you receive the product.

But the money goes straight to them and since it is through western union it is almost impossible to get back especially overseas.

So I hope this helps someone here because I was just almost scammed out of $4000.
