two days ago i was at a very large food chain restaurant. there was a wooden plaque hanging on the wall holding the bibs for the babies, and i was standing under it waiting for my food with my boyfriend. the plaque fell off the wall and hit me in the head and a bump immediately formed. my boyfriend said that they were lazy with the craftmanship and simply nailed it into the dry wall. he tried to talk to the manager however she spoke little to no english and did not understand what he was trying to say, so he asked for the head office's phone number and we left. yesterday i went to the doctor and i have a concussion and i was prescribed pain medication. our immediate reaction was to call the head office and demand compensation because i am in university and i really cannot afford feeling so dizzy and disoriented. however after talking to my mom she thinks we should contact a lawyer and just let them handle it. so what do you think? do i even have something? should we talk to the company or let the lawyer do it? i have documented everything just in case, i took pictures of the wall and photo copied my prescription before i had it filled.
