What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
IL

Hello,
Was laid off last year and still not employed which sucks as a single parent.
I have a business plan to open a pet grooming/boarding/training business out of my home and if clients come and stay and multiply to expand into a small shop. WHERE CAN I FIND GRANTS for such scenario so that I can remodel a room in my house and buy the necessary equipment? Already went on the www.sba.gov, but did not find what I was looking for.
Many thanks and happy weekend.

That was a not smart reply. Ever heard that new business creates new job openings plus takes the owner of the unemployment market as well? I worked 13 years for that company to pay my taxes, so please....
I am not looking for thousands of thousands, just to get started. With this profession I plan on helping shelters with free grooming, pet owners with more than affordable prices
to help if they need boarding instead of throwing their animals in the street.
7 million pets get euthanized every year in this country...
If you do not have something useful to say, please spare me your comment.
Is this a board for free advice or for wise seniorjudges to let their frustration out?
So nice people please feel free to respond....
Many thanks

Start here..

Also, is there a local Planning and Development Center where you live? They can provide information on small business development loans and grants.

Year ago my (now ex) husband worked for our local Planning and Development Commission and one of his jobs was to screen applicants that wished small business development loans.
