What is the name of your state? COLORADO

I am a grandma and my grandson has lived with me for the last 6 years and I have fully supported him. His father has also lived with me until a couple of weeks ago. He signed over temporary custody of his son to me for the next 2 years. After I kicked my son out of my house, he decided he wanted to revoke the temporary custody papers we had signed and notarized. His son doesn't want to go with him and wants to stay with me. What can I do to get legal custody of my grandson. He is 15 years old.

Consult an attorney. While you may have a good case, the fact that the guardianship papers are not a court order puts you at square 1. Consult an attorney to petition the court for guardianship. Where is Mom, why have you been the child's sole support for 6 years and why did you kick your son to the curb?

COLORADO:
The mom wants nothing to do with the son and can't support him anyways. She has 3 other children, all of which have been taken away from her. I kicked my son out because he started stealing from me.

You'd have to take it to court as the notarized paper is worthless & unenforceable. He's the kid's father, and you'll have to prove him unfit. I wouldn't count on it.

The father has been charged on a felony theft case within the last year and is looking at going back to jail the next time he goes to court for not paying his restitution and I'm considering filing charges against him for the theft he did against me because he forged my name and used my credit cards. Would that be enough to prove him unfit? My grandson is willing to tell the judge he wants me to be his legal guardian. The father has also stole from his son and pawned his personal items for cash.
